Статьи, рекомендованные на доработку, направляются авторам с замечаниями рецензента и/или научного редактора. Сделанные автором изменения в рукописи необходимо внести в электронный вариант текста и возвратить его в редакцию. В случае несогласия авторов с рецензентом и/или редактором автору следует обосновать свою позицию.
Исправленная после доработки статья, должна быть возвращена в редакцию в течение трех недель с момента ее получения авторами. Статья, возвращенная в редакцию по истечении указанного срока, будет иметь новую дату поступления.
Редакция не предоставляет авторам копии корректуры статьи на бумаге. Статья высылается в виде pdf-файла. На стадии корректуры не допускаются замены текста, рисунков или таблиц. Если в корректуру вносятся исправления, при возвращении ее в редакцию необходимо приложить в виде отдельного файла подробный список сделанных исправлений.
Редакция оставляет за собой право отклонять без рецензии статьи, не соответствующие профилю журнала и оформленные с нарушением правил.
На всех стадиях работы с рукописями и для общения с авторами редакторами используется электронная почта, поэтому авторам следует быть внимательными при указании своего электронного адреса.
I. Рекомендации автору до подачи статьи
Представление статьи в журнал «Письма в Вавиловский журнал генетики и селекции» подразумевает, что:
— статья не была опубликована ранее в другом журнале;
— статья не находится на рассмотрении в другом журнале;
— все соавторы согласны с публикацией текущей версии статьи.
Перед отправкой статьи на рассмотрение убедитесь, что в файле (файлах) содержится вся необходимая информация на русском и английском языках, указаны источники информации, размещенной на рисунках и в таблицах, все цитаты выверены и привведены с указанием страниц первоисточника.
При подаче статьи авторам желательно указывать идентификаторы ORCID ID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). Если их нет, то возможна регистрация в системе на сайте https://orcid.org/. ORCID ID – это некоммерческий проект, цель которого присвоить каждому автору научной статьи свой уникальный код. Отсутствие ORCID ID у авторов не является препятствием к опубликованию статьи.
Редакция журнала «Письма в Вавиловский журнал генетики и селекции» рекомендует авторам использовать при подготовке публикаций следующие материалы:
При подготовке систематических обзоров – «PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)»;
При подготовке статей, отражающих результаты качественных исследований – «SRQR (Standards for reporting qualitative research)»;
При подготовке статей, отражающих результаты рандомизированных клинических исследований – «CONSORT 2010 checklist of information to include when reporting a randomizes trial».
II. Как подать статью на рассмотрение
Прием статей осуществляется через электронную почту редакции pismavavilov@bionet.nsc.ru.
Загружаемый файл со статьей должен быть представлен в формате Microsoft Word (иметь расширение *.doc, *.docx, или *.rtf).
III. Взаимодействие между журналом и автором
Редакция журнала ведет переписку с ответственным (контактным) автором, копии писем направляются всем авторам, для которых указан адрес электронной почты.
Все поступающие в журнал статьи проходят проверку на соответствие формальным требованиям. На этом этапе статья может быть возвращена автору (авторам) на доработку с просьбой устранить ошибки и/или добавить недостающие данные. На этом этапе статья может быть отклонена из-за несоответствия ее целям и правилам оформления статей для журнала.
После предварительной проверки статью отправляют рецензенту с указанием сроков рецензирования. Ответственному автору отправляется соответствующее уведомление.
В спорных случаях редактор может привлечь к процессу рецензирования нескольких экспертов – специалистов в данной области знания.
При положительном заключении рецензента(-ов) статья передается редактором в техническую редакцию для подготовки к печати.
При принятии решения о доработке статьи замечания и комментарии рецензента(-ов) передаются автору. Автору дается три недели на их устранение. Если в течение этого срока переработанный вариант рукописи не поступает в редакцию, статья снимается с очереди публикации.
При принятии решения об отказе в публикации статьи автору отправляется решение редакции.
Автору, уполномоченному вести переписку с редакцией журнала, направляется финальная версия корректуры принятой к публикации статьи для согласования. Ответ от авторов ожидается в течение 48 часов. При неполучении ответа верстка статьи считается утвержденной
IV. Порядок пересмотра решений редактора/рецензента
Если автор не согласен с заключением рецензента и/или редактора или отдельными замечаниями, он может их аргументировано оспорить. Для этого автору необходимо:
— ясно изложить свою позицию по рассматриваемому вопросу.
V. Действия редакции в случае обнаружения плагиата, фабрикации или фальсификации данных
В случае обнаружения плагиата, фабрикации или фальсификации данных редакция руководствуется правилами COPE.
VI. Исправление ошибок и отзыв статьи
В случае обнаружения в тексте статьи ошибок, влияющих на ее восприятие, но не искажающих изложенные результаты исследования, они могут быть исправлены путем замены pdf-файла статьи и указанием на ошибку в самом файле статьи и на странице статьи на сайте журнала.
В случае обнаружения в тексте статьи ошибок, искажающих результаты исследования статья может быть отозвана. Инициатором отзыва статьи может быть редакция, автор, организация, частное лицо.
Отозванная статья помечается знаком «Статья отозвана», на странице статьи размещается информация о причине отзыва статьи. Информация об отзыве статьи направляется в базы данных, в которых индексируется журнал.In cases where the reviewers or an Editorial Board Member have requested amendments, the manuscript is sent to the authors with remarks by the reviewers and/or the Scientific Editor. The authors are requested to indicate all sites in the manuscript where revisions are made. In case of dissent from a reviewer or the Editor, the author(s) should substantiate his/her opinion.
A manuscript sent by the Editor after review and revised in accordance with reviewer’s remarks should be returned to the Editor within 21 days after its receipt by the author(s). An article returned after the expiration of this term will be assigned a new date of submission.
The journal does not provide authors with hard copies of proofs. The article is sent to its authors in the form of a *.pdf file. No revisions of the text, figures, or tables are allowed at the proofreading step. If corrections are made, the proofs should be returned to the Editor together with a separate file with a detailed list of the corrections.
The journal reserves the right to reject articles out of the journal scope or breaching the instructions to authors without reviewing.
Electronic mail is used by editors and reviewers for communication with authors at all steps of work with manuscripts; therefore, authors are requested to indicate carefully their email addresses.

I. Before submission
The submission of a paper to Letters to the Vavilov Journal of Genetics and Breeding implies that
- the paper has not been published in other media;
- the paper is not being reviewed in another media outlet; and
- all co-authors agree with the publication of the current version of the paper.
Prior to the submission, make sure that the file(s) contain(s) all the necessary information in Russian and English; references to the sources of information presented in figures and tables are indicated; and all quotations are checked and provided with pages of the source.
Authors are encouraged to indicate their Open Researcher and Contributor IDs (ORCIDs). If an author has none, he/she can register at https://orcid.org/. ORCID ID is a nonprofitable project aimed at the assignment of a unique code to each author of scientific articles. Absence of an ORCID ID does not preclude the publication.
The Editorial Board of Letters to the Vavilov Journal of Genetics and Breeding recommends authors to adhere the following materials:

II. How to submit
Manuscripts are submitted to the Editorial Board by e-mail: pismavavilov@bionet.nsc.ru.

III. Communication between the journal and the author(s)
The Editorial Board carries on correspondence with the corresponding author, and copies of letters are sent to all authors whose e-mail addresses are indicated.
All submitted manuscripts are checked for compliance with formal requirements. At this step, the manuscript can be returned to the author(s) so that they could revise it, eliminate errors, and add lacking data. The journal also reserves the right to reject articles out of the journal scope or breaching the instructions to authors without reviewing.
After this preliminary check, the manuscript is sent to a reviewer with indication of the term of review. The corresponding author is duly notified thereof.
Peer reviewing is performed by the members of the Editorial Council and Editorial Board and also by invited reviewers – leading experts in the topics of the reviewed manuscripts.
A manuscript receiving a favorable review is passed to the editorial department.
In cases where the reviewers or an Editorial Board Member have requested amendments, the reviewer’s remarks and comments are sent to the author. The author is expected to revise the manuscript in accordance with the remarks within three weeks. If the revised version is not sent to the Editorial Board, the manuscript is taken off the register.
In case of manuscript rejection, the decision is sent to the author.
The author authorized to carry on correspondence with the Editorial Board is sent the final proof for approval. The reply from the authors is being expected for 48 h. If no reply is received, the proof is considered approved.
IV. Revision of decisions of the Editor/Reviewer
In case of dissent from a reviewer or the Editor, the author(s) should clearly detail and substantiate his/her opinion.
V. Scenario for detection of plagiarism, data falsification, or hoax
If plagiarism, data falsification, or hoax are identified, the COPE guidelines on plagiarism will be followed.
VI. Correction of errors and article retraction
In case of detection of errors in an article that affect its perception but not distort the presented results of the study, the errors can be corrected by replacing the pdf file with the article and indicating the error in the file itself and on the page of the article on the website of the journal.
In case of detection of errors distorting the results of the study, the article may be retracted. The retraction procedure can be initialized by the Editorial Board, author, institution, or a private person.
A retracted article is labeled «Article retracted», and the information on the reasons for the retraction is placed on the webpage of the article. Information on article retraction is sent to databases where the journal is indexed.
